Blue and Peach Living Room

eebf9559458ed8d27145ebe999acf076I love the use of pink and coral teamed with grey and blue in this cosy and calm living room. I’ve been piecing together this look for a few weeks now following a good browse on Pinterest.

I am always amazed where this blog takes me- and extreme knitting is no exception. You can buy super chunky knitted blankets from sellers like Loopy Mango (who’s Etsy shop is incredible) and Lucy Hanks. But £170-£350 is a lot to spend on a throw, and after a bit of research I’ve discovered that extreme knitting (knitting using oversized knitting needles with super thick yarn) is supposedly easy AND quick to whip up something in an evening. I’m sold!

Textile Artist Rachel John is considered a bit of an expert on this, and you can get a pair of needles from her Amazon shop for £19.99, as well as jersey Hooplayarn which is a by-product of the textile industry. If you’re looking to emulate that soft and chunky blanket, knit a few strands of Sirdar Big Softie in ‘Blancmange’ at a time using your super-sized needles.
